- What are makhanas?
- Makhanas — also called fox nuts or lotus seeds — are puffed seeds from the Euryale ferox plant, grown primarily in Bihar, India. When we first started exploring ingredients, makhana stood out immediately: naturally gluten-free, low in calories, high in protein and calcium, and honestly just a brilliant base for snacking. It’s been a part of Indian kitchens for centuries — we’re just making sure it finally gets its moment.
- Are your makhanas roasted or fried?
- Always roasted, never fried — that’s non-negotiable for us. We slow dry-roast every batch and use just a touch of rice bran oil to help the seasoning stick. The result is a snack that’s genuinely light, crisp, and guilt-free. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
- Are your products gluten-free?
- Yes! Our makhanas are gluten-free, and our chips — Ragi Masala and Masala Beetroot — are also made without any gluten-containing ingredients. That said, all our products are made in a facility that processes other allergens too, so if you have a severe allergy, please check the individual pack label before buying. Your safety matters more to us than a sale.
- Do your products contain any artificial colours or preservatives?
- Absolutely not. We made a commitment from day one — no artificial colours, no preservatives. Every V/ayu Farms product is seasoned with real spices, natural flavourings, and nothing else. If we wouldn’t feel comfortable eating it ourselves, it doesn’t go in the pack.
- What is the shelf life of your products?
- Our makhana pouches and chip pouches stay fresh for 6 months from the date of manufacture. Makhana cans give you a full 12 months. We always print the best-before date clearly on every pack — please do check it before opening.
- How should I store the products after opening?
- Reseal the pouch or can tightly after each use and keep it in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight — no refrigeration needed. For the best crunch, try to finish it within 2 weeks of opening. If your makhanas have softened a little, just pop them in the microwave for up to 2 minutes and they’ll crisp right back up. Works like a charm!
- Do your products contain allergens?
- Some of our products contain milk and peanut ingredients, and all are made in a facility that may also process tree nuts. We’d really encourage you to check the allergen info on each individual product page before purchasing — we’ve tried to make it as clear as possible.
Orders & Shipping
- How long does delivery take?
- Standard delivery across India typically takes 4–7 business days. Depending on where you are, express options may also be available at checkout. For international orders, delivery times vary by destination — we’ll always give you an estimate at checkout.
- Do you ship internationally?
- Yes, we do! We ship to select international destinations — because good snacks shouldn’t have borders. Shipping charges and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location.
- How can I track my order?
- Once your order is on its way, we’ll send you a tracking link via email or WhatsApp. You can follow it in real time — we know the wait is the hardest part!
- Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
- We move fast on packing and dispatch, so we can’t always guarantee changes after an order is placed. But please reach out to us on WhatsApp or email as soon as you can — we’ll do everything possible to sort it out for you.
Returns & Refunds
- What is your return policy?
- Because our products are consumable food items, we aren’t able to accept returns for change of mind. But if your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect — that’s on us, and we’ll make it right. Just reach out within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we’ll arrange a replacement or full refund, no questions asked.
- My order arrived damaged — what do I do?
- We’re really sorry if that happened — it’s not the experience we want for you at all. Please take a quick photo of the damaged product and packaging and send it to us via WhatsApp or email within 48 hours. We’ll resolve it as fast as we can.

- Are your boxes suitable for corporate gifting?
- Absolutely — and honestly, this is something we’re really proud of.
