Is Vayu Farms makhana fried or roasted?
All Vayu Farms makhana is double-roasted, never fried. We use rice bran oil in small quantities — no palm oil, ever.
What is makhana, and how is it different from popcorn or chips?
Makhana (fox nuts) are roasted lotus seeds, naturally high in protein and low in fat compared to fried snacks like potato chips or butter-loaded popcorn. Unlike popcorn, makhana doesn't rely on oil or butter for flavour — our seasoning is applied post-roast.
Are your products gluten-free?
Our makhana range is naturally gluten-free. Please check the ingredient label on individual chip SKUs, as some contain grain-based bases.
Do your products contain preservatives?
No artificial preservatives. Shelf life is maintained through proper roasting and airtight packaging.

Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store my makhana/chips after opening?
Reseal the pouch tightly after each use and store in a cool, dry place. For best crunch, consume within 2-3 weeks of opening.
What is the shelf life of Vayu Farms products?
Unopened pouches have a shelf life of 6-9 months from the date of packaging, printed on the pack.
